Fireworks banning

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.” -Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Hi! New Year just came up and I guess new calendars are already hanged up in the corners of your house.  As the start of this new year, we set new goals in life and continue achieving the ones we already have. Some have these so called "New Year's resolution" wherein even the craziest resolutions exist and the list goes on. But that is not the only thing that is traditionally done by the Filipinos during New Year season, we also light fireworks. Yes, fireworks, these are combustible chemicals that causes a spectacular explosion when ignited.

There is an issue stating that fireworks will be banned in the Philippines. Dismayed over the continuing increase in firecracker injuries, Health secretary said it is up to the lawmakers to consider a total ban on firecrackers. He said if Davao City was able to implement a total ban on fireworks, the entire country could do the same.

Banning fireworks has its pros and cons. We'll go with the positive side first. Banning fireworks could prevent harmful injuries. This could also lessen house and building fires. This could also prevent illegal purchasing of fireworks. Now for the negative side, banning fireworks can stop celebration of holidays, or any special events because this could lessen the fun and excitement of parties and family functions for fireworks gives joy to a crowd.

For my opinion, I think fireworks should not be banned because it holds a role that only they can perform. It brings excitement and joy to all. It is best to just use fireworks in a safe environment to avoid harmful injuries and building fires. But that's just it, we don't know when accidents might happen so we must always be ready.

All the best wishes for y'all guys! I hope that you will someday achieve your goals and be successful. Wish you had a wonderful holiday, a fruitful and productive year to come. Kudos to all, thanks for reading and always stay safe! x
